Bathurst Golf Club – Additional Local Rules
(To be read in conjunction with the JNJG & GNSW Local Rules Hard Card and the Rules of Golf as adopted by the R&A)
Any Local Rules displayed on the clubs’ local rules board or as printed on the clubs scorecard are to be disregarded for this event.
30cm preferred lies in the general area (ball must be marked before taking preferred lie)
- OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18)
- All areas outside the boundary of the property as defined by the perimeter fence
- Beyond the inside points, at ground level, of any line of white stakes with black tops
- The car parking area including associated kerbing and guttering
- PENALTY AREAS (Rule 17)
- Red Penalty Areas are defined by red stakes, lines or plates. Note:- When playing hole 7, the area marked with red stakes over the back of the green is a penalty area. Relief may be taken under Rule 17, or played as it lies. When playing hole 8 this same area is to be treated as Abnormal Ground Condition and relief without penalty may be taken in the closest Drop Zone near the green, or played where it is with a 30cm preferred lie.
- Yellow Penalty Areas are defined by yellow stakes, lines or plates
- IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 16)
- All stakes defining GUR, Penalty Areas & Distance Markers
- All artificially surfaced roads & paths
- ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITION (Rule 16)
- Areas encircled by white paint, marked as dots, broken lines, unbroken lines or white pavers and / or Ground Under Repair signage
- Clearly defined wheel ruts in the General Area made by course maintenance machinery
- Areas in bunkers where sand has been removed by the movement of water resulting in deep furrows through the sand.
- Areas of bare earth on parts of the General Area cut to fairway height or less, not including divots
- ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITION – NO PLAY ZONE (Rule 16.1f)
- Ornamental Gardens as defined by timber or concrete surrounds, white markers, stakes and / or lines are no play zones that are to be treated as an abnormal course conditions. Free relief MUST be taken from interference by the no play zone.
- TREES & SHRUBS, TREE ROOTS
Staked Trees and shrubs are no play zones and are ground under repair (the GUR includes any stakes and/or protective guards. Relief MUST be taken in accordance with 16.1b. In the General Area, ground affected by tree roots on surfaces cut to fairway height or less, or within two club-lengths of surfaces cut to fairway height or less MAY be treated as GUR. Interference does not exist where tree roots only impact player’s stance.
- IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (EG SPRINKLER HEADS) CLOSE TO PUTTING GREENS – LINE OF PLAY INTERFERENCE
- Rule 16.1b applies to immovable obstructions close to putting greens. In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1a, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is: on the player’s line of play, and is within two club-lengths of the putting green, and is within two club-lengths of the ball. (Exception – There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.)
UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE PENALTY FOR BREACH OF A LOCAL RULE IS THE GENERAL PENALTY:

Bathurst Golf Club – Tournament Information
- Scorecard Return and Tournament Office
- A player’s scorecard is deemed officially returned to the Tournament Committee when the player has left the tournament office. Once the player has left the tournament office, no changes may be made to the scorecard.
- Players MUST move straight from the 18th green to the tournament office to complete and sign their scorecards.

- In the case of a player being unable to gain assistance from one of the numbers above, the player may proceed in accordance with the procedure outlined in Rule 20.1c(3) of the Rules of Golf and nominate to play a second ball. The player must report the facts of the situation to the Committee before returning the scorecard, even if the player scores the same with both balls.

- Maximum Score Format of Play (Rules of Golf Rule 21.2)
- Maximum Score is a form of stroke play where a player’s score for a hole is capped a maximum number of strokes set by the committee. At JNJG Junior Masters Events, the maximum score for any hole is 10 strokes.
- Parents, Spectators and Bag Pusher Guidelines
- There are no caddies allowed at any JNJG Tour Event. See the JNJG Parents and Spectator guidelines for more details.
- Player Food and Drink
- All players will be given something to eat and drink on both days. This is to be collected from the BBQ area between the hours of 6:45am and 3:00pm. It is the player’s responsibility to ensure they collect their food at a time when the BBQ will be operational. For those players teeing off after 12:30pm on both days, they are encouraged to collect their food prior to starting the round.

Make sure you keep up with the group in front, carry and use a sand bucket to replace divots, and fix all pitch marks on the greens. Let’s leave the course in the same condition as when we arrived!!
